Introduction
Entrepreneurship has been recognized throughout the world as one the engines of growth and development. Although, there are exceptional success stories within the region, the aggregate entrepreneurial activity is subdued in comparison with rest of the country. Hence, there is acute need to generate interest in entrepreneurship in Northeast India and Arunachal Pradesh in particular.
The Centre for Entrepreneurship, Rajiv Gandhi University was set up in May, 2015.
Objectives:
i. To build entrepreneurship capacity building in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.
ii. To develop an ecosystem for startups and SMEs.
iii. To run practical oriented courses in the centre.
iv. To develop a linkage with the national entrepreneurship ecosystem.
v. To organize workshops, seminars, conferences related to entrepreneurship.
vi. To develop formal entrepreneurship courses in the near future.
Projects undertaken by Centre for Entrepreneurship:
Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana (PMYUVA):
Centre for Entrepreneurship, RGU is an empanelled Institute of PMYUVA. PMYUVA is a flagship Entrepreneurship scheme of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, GoI. A batch of students has completed the first part of the course.
