Academic Programme Offered :  Advance Post-Graduate Diploma in Biodiversity

The activities of the Centre during 2018-19 are as follows :

Advance Post Graduate Diploma in Biodiversity:

Students: Sixth batch of students get admitted in the first semester of Advance Post Graduate Diploma in Biodiversity, under Center with Potential for Excellence in Biodiversity. Ten students out of 12 admitted students appeared in the first semester end examinations held on December, 2018. All of them passed to second semester.

Faculty Member: Following faculty members have been involved in teaching of Advance Post Graduate Diploma in Biodiversity (Theory and practical).

Grants for Field Study/ Students field training:

Conducted field training of Advance Post Graduate Diploma in Biodiversity in the Mouling National Park in Upper Siang, Arunachal Pradesh October 27-November 1, 2018.

Field trip (Avian Survey) at different areas of Lower Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh: February 23-March 2, 2019.

Field trip at Sangti valley and adjacent areas of West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh: January 14-20, 2019.

Field trip (Avian fauna study) in Daparijo and Riga: November 26-December 3, 2018.

Training of school students:

A group of school students from Biswanath District of Assam visited the Center with Potential for Excellence in Biodiversity on 29th March, 2019. The group of five students from different five schools of Biswanath district of Assam were selected at state level reading in class IX and X under Rastriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhiyan (R.M.S.A). The students participated were from (1). Roopjyoti High School, (2) Kalabari Higher Secondary School, (3) Tetunpukhuri High School, (4) Kalabari High Scool and (5) Nehru High School. Objectives of this state level school students’ academic programme was to give them exposure to the University / Higher Education Institute, its teaching and research environment. The students lead by Mr. Neelamoni Sharma, Principal, Tetunphukhuri High School, Biswanath visited laboratories, museums, botanical garden and Orchidarium under the Center with Potential for Excellence in Biodiversity.
