This is book is the outcome of a National Seminar organized in the Department of the Education on the theme “Contemporary Indian Society Issues and Challenges with Special Reference to North East India” sponsored by ICSSR-NERC and Rajiv Gandhi University, published by Akhand Publishing House, New Delhi.

Total 37 participants presented their papers in the seminar. Papers presented in the seminar have been compiled in the form of two books. Volume I contain 18 papers and 26 contributors while Volume II contains 17 papers contributed by 22 contributors.
