About Us
Established in 2012, the Rajiv Gandhi University Research Scholars’ Forum (RGURSF) is an autonomous body that represents and unites research scholars from various disciplines within the university. The Forum was founded with the vision of fostering academic collaboration, safeguarding scholars’ interests, and strengthening the research culture on campus. Guided by the motto “Research to Serve,” RGURSF continues to serve as a vibrant platform for scholarly engagement, representation, and welfare.
Advisory Committee
The Advisory Committee with 22 members is the highest decision-making body for the Placement Cell constituted for a term of three years. The Honorable Vice Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University, is the ex-officio chairman, and the Jt. Registrar (Aca. & Conf.) is the convener. The coordinator, Career Counseling Cell, is the member coordinator. The committee shall meet twice in a year with one meeting in each semester.
Nature and Structure
The RGURSF functions as a democratically elected/selected and inclusive body within Rajiv Gandhi University. It operates autonomously while upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and institutional values. The Forum is strictly non-political and non-discriminatory, ensuring equal participation and representation of all research scholars regardless of background or discipline. For the academic year 2024–25, Mr. Nabam Saha serves as the General Secretary of the Forum.
Motto: Research to Serve
The Forum’s motto, “Research to Serve,” captures its deep commitment to using research as a transformative tool for societal betterment and academic advancement. This reflects the Forum’s mission to go beyond the boundaries of academia and make meaningful contributions to both local and national development.
Emblem and Symbolism
The official emblem of RGURSF is a circular design with rich academic symbolism: The name “Rajiv Gandhi University Research Scholars’ Forum” is inscribed along the outer edge. At the center, a graduation cap (trencher) rests atop a fountain pen, placed over an open book, symbolizing academic achievement and the pursuit of knowledge. A magnifying glass focuses on the pen, highlighting the importance of research and investigation. A rising sun in the background signifies enlightenment, new beginnings, and the continuous exploration of knowledge. The use of diverse colors in the emblem signifies unity in diversity — a core value upheld by the Forum.
Objectives of RGURSF
The Rajiv Gandhi University Research Scholars’ Forum pursues the following primary objectives:
- Fostering Unity and Cooperation: To cultivate a sense of solidarity and mutual support among research scholars and the broader student community.
